Hi! Anyone ever use Makeup a Geek shadows? I love her videoes and decided to check out her stuff. Her colors are super pretty and soft and that may be easy for the color challenged like me. I'm curious about the quality.

I haven't tried her pigments yet, but quite like her shadows and gel liner. Lipsticks aren't my favorite. The shadows are MAC quality. Kind of idiot proof as far as blending. I started off buying a few colours I thought I'd like and then went back and got the little 9 pack starter kit. No complaints here

Thank you tayvm! I think I'm going to get a couple. Do the pans fit into any standard palette? I don't have a Z Palette, but I have several empty pan palettes. I'm assuming they are the same size. I'm going to pick up a couple. I think for 4, with shipping, it's still cheaper than an actual pre-made palette by UD, or even MAC.

The pans seem to be just a smidge bigger than the MAC pans, but I think they'll still fit in the regular palette. I ended up taking the insert out of my MAC palette and lining the bottom with a sheet of adhesive magnet from the dollar store so I could fit more shadows. Did my Nars blushes and eyeshadows in a MAC palette this way too. Still cheaper than the Z Palettes. I like that the new MAC palettes have the see through tops.

I have! I have Taupe Notch and Moondust and I like them both quite a bit. I didn't find them to be incredibly pigmented (like, for example, Make Up For Ever shadows) but they were still pigmented enough for my preferences - approximately the same level as Urban Decay. They were soft and smooth, though not quite as buttery as my NARS shadows (or the Chanel ones) which is understandable. I thought they were a dream to blend, the colors were true to pan, and they had good staying power. I definitely think they're comparable to MAC shadows, and hopefully as the brand expands so will the color range!

Thanks ladies! I actually just finished my order. I got gold digger, mango tango twilight and Cinderella. I wanted some color to use as an accent and I've been looking for a pretty gold. I think Cinderella will look nice on my lazy days as just a lid color for me. I also bought a a palette on Amazon. Can't wait to get them.
Now time to work on my beauty.com order... alexm814 and I were talking today and she reminded me that Nordie's will price match. So I may make a Nordie's list and bring the email from a Beauty.com. I'm hearing shipping is not the fastest.

mrsbaine, How does the price matching occur? I assume this has to be done in person? I haven't price matched before at Nordstrom's.

Nordie's stance is the sale has to be public, which this is not... So.. I ordered fromBeauty.com directly and will wait for DAYS for my stuff.

I'm kind of obsessed with MUG shadows. I own probably 90 percent of them (and a handful of the pigments, too). The quality can vary - some blow my mind, most are great, a few have been a little chalky. mrsbaine, I think you are going to be really happy with the ones you got!

thank you SallieSunshine! I ordered 4 or 5 of them I think. I also got a Z palette gore convenience- don't want them to not fit the palette. I'm excited to get them. I believe they will be here on Monday.. If I like them, I'll be buying more; they are super cheap!

mrsbaine, they are super cheap and super addictive. If you ever want me to swatch one for you, let me know! The swatches on site are generally ok, but they are very pre-fab - you can't tell texture well at all, and you can't tell how much they built them up to get that color, whether there was primer, etc. Also, I hear the makeup brushes are surprisingly good. Haven't tried mine yet - just got some this week - but I'll try them out this weekend and report.

Thank you! Would love swatches! Since I recently figured out what pigments are (thanks MUA) I'd love to see those swatches. I got my shadows today. I got Mango tango, Cinderella, and a goldfish one... The name escapes me... And another color I'm blanking on. We'll see how it goes!

I got the Outer V one and the Pencil one. I found the Outer V one was way too wide in diameter for me to use. The Pencil one is okay but I don't seem to grab it much.

I tried 2 of my shadows and they are ok. I wouldn't say they are life changing; I still prefer Urban Decay, Marc Jacobs and KVD. The colors I got are pretty; They do require a bit of build up in order for there to be color. I do love the color Cinderella. It's a beautiful pinky muted brown on me. I'll use them for sure, but I don't know if I'd repurchase.

I think you definitely get what you pay for - and they have some colors that can't be found elsewhere, like Bitten. At $6 a pan, they're just over half the price of MAC shadows and 1/3 the price of UD singles. Their black is pretty black but I did a swatch-fest of black shadows (shut up, I do not have a problem) and it's not the blackest in my collection (Blackout by UD is.) I did a post about it over on my blog - www.ladymeag.com/2014/04/black-shadow-showdown-redux.html

I want her eyeshadow starter kit, but I'm on a no buy and it's over the price limit of my no buy exceptions. D:
