Can anyone tell me how TF compares to Givenchy? I really don't like the Givenchy Rouge lipstick at all. It seems like it slides going on and that it's too greasy to make a good outer line. It got patchy on my bottom lip even though I had exfoliated beforehand. I was surprised about its performance but then read some of the low-rated reviews and saw other users had similar issues. I have been meaning to wear my Givenchy lipstick. I will try to remember it tomorrow and let you know what I think.

Hm that's strange. I don't have any Tom Ford lippies (thankfully I have never really gotten into his line) but I can say I haven't had those issues with my Givenchy Le Rouge. I have Beige Mousseline. Maybe it varies among the shades? I do very minimal prep for the Le Rouge too. I also got the mini 100 pt perk in Rose Dressing but haven't tried it yet.

Granted I have only tried one Givenchy and one Tom Ford, but here are my notes as requested. The Tom Ford is moisturizing and long lasting, but the color never really sets. Thus, there is a lot of transferring. It leaves behind a lot of glitter when it fades. The Givenchy is nowhere near as moisturizing as the Tom Ford. It wears off faster, but it does not transfer at all. As it fades, it melds into the lips leaving a soft natural look.
Neither lipstick is my HG, but I find them both nice in different ways. I can think about ways to improve both too. For the Tom Ford, I would trade some of the moisturizing effect to have it set a little better. I would also lessen the glitter it leaves behind. On the Givenchy one, I would have it last a little longer and moisturize a little deeper.

It helps me to know that I'm not missing anything much if I don't start buying TF (I already have the Givenchy experience, so didn't plan to get any more of those). I realize that some people can overlook the lackluster performance, but with my just getting the hang of applying/wearing lipsticks, after going most of my life w/o them, I need brands that are easy to apply and hold up.

Its te Shine one not the opaque. I think ita called insidious. I like it- i don't love it. I may try a deeper color. The formula is very moisturiIng. My favorite lip brand is YSL. I think my YSL performs better.

Gorgeous! Is it a berry-red? yeah, I'd call it a berry red. It's not purple, but not a blaring red. It's really nice!

I tried one Tom Ford lipstick to see what I thought. My first was Deep Mink. Not only was the color one I have been searching for a long time, but the color lasts, my lips don't dry out. I have found that since wearing TF, I am less enthusiastic about some of my other lipsticks. LORAC Alter Ego, which I had liked, just isn't the same to me. It seems drying and fades quickly in comparison. I am also a big fan of Too Faced la Creme lipsticks, and those still seem to be good to me.
So what I have found by dabbling in Tom Ford lipsticks is that is has raised the bar for me. I now have four I think? Each one of them allows me to pull off an overall makeup look that I have never been able to. There is a quality to the colors that really works for me. I don't know how to explain, other than that after buying quite a few lipsticks and not feeling like they finished off my overall look the way I wanted, every one of the Tom Ford ones I have allows me to complete a certain look in a way that no other has. For instance, I love coppers. Well if I go with a copper eye look with some darker, warm browns too, Warm Sable is like putting a bronze color on that totally finishes the copper-ish look. Casablanca works with my pinks and purples. Sable Smoke tones down my lips with a slight brown hue so I can go very minimal or do a heavy eye that is the focus and minimize my lips.
Can't compare with any other high end brands, other than a few Edward Bess that I snagged when Sephora was dropping the line (I do like the formula but none of the colors I got worked the way I hoped) I don't have much experience.
