My hair is several inches below my shoulders. My hair is very fine and thin. If I dry it the right way and use the right products I can get some gentle curls out of it. But I never have that kind of time.
I wish I could get a bit more body out of it. I use a styling cream and some gel and let it air dry. Should I use hairspray? Should I be blowing it dry?
I feel like my makeup is much better but my hair is embarrassing. I went to an event today and noticed how nice everyone's hair looked, but mine was not so nice. I feel like my cleansing products are great, tips on styling appreciated!!

have you tried the deva curl ultra defining gel? i am a devacurl addict!! if i have time i clip my roots and blow dry my roots - but that's it. on a day to day i just use the gel and then leave it until it air dries. once its fully dry i scrunch to remove the gel cast and i'm good to go for 3-4 days.

Can you French braid? I also have fine limp hair, it's about mid back on me. After showering I usually put in some sort of oil (B&B hairdressers oil currently) and LP styling cream, then brush it kind of in an upward motion periodically as it dries. Once it's about 70-80% dry I do a French braid starting high up on my head and sleep in it. The braid being so high means I don't get that "hair flattened to my scalp" thing when I let it down, because it dried while held up. As a bonus you get some nice beachy waves out of it!

I have thin, limp hair too and I swear by Got2Be Powderful Powder. You rub it into the roots after you wash it (it will still give some body if you air-dry it). A little goes a long way; if you use too much, your hair will feel very dry. Also, do you have layers? I have lots of layers and I use a pomade that make the ends stick out and look "piece-y", so that also gives the illusion that I have thicker hair.

You should consult a professional hair stylist. Try to find a good one to go to at least once. It really depends on the cut as well. My hair has been ultra fine to the point it curls and waves itself. I have it cut in a stacked A line cut now and I really love it. It takes 12 minutes to blow dry it out. I use a styling cream and that is all. I also use a large round wooden boar brush. It is very important to get a wooden brush because it does not transfer the heat to the damaging point. I use alligator clips and clip my hair in to 2 or 3 sections ( depending on the time ). It is very full and bouncy and I just add a bit of styling creme after as well. ( just a dab, the size of a pea) It lasts all day and looks great. I will try to take photos over the next couple of days to show the difference between air dry and blow dried.

My hair tends to be limp. I can get some volume by using Fast form gel by Paul Mitchell, and by blow drying. I don't like to dry my hair completely. If I dry it 75% then I don't feel like I am damaging my hair, and can have volume.
