I have terribly dry skin right now. I'm taking the treatment that a dermatologist will prescribe if nothing else has worked called accutane which is a high level vitamin A sourced pill I take daily to rid my acne and much of the problems that go along with once and for all it is mostly a 6 month treatment process for most and you get dry skin...in my case I've gotten Extremely dry skin. I'd like a prestige moisturizer that costs less than $200 and has at least an ounce and a half in it... I know some moisturizers some I've looked at myself that go for $400 a pop for jus an ounce! I have the La Mer moisturizers and the La Mer concentrate right now and don't like them at all they have done nothing for my dry skin. I'd like a moisturizer that helps luminosity as well I know moisturizers do that in general but also I'd really like one that had mostly all natural ingredients doesn't have to be organic or even 80% natural... But I have sensitive skin right now so the less chemicals the better. I was looking at a few expensive but also looked like great ingredients in moisturizers from Sisley, Chantecaille, Koh Gen Doh, Fresh, And many more... SO....What's ur "go to" higher end or pricey purchased moisturizer or Better yet decently priced moisturizer with excellent ingredients that far exceeded your expectations or moisturizers you've hers wonders about and you've sampled but don't have yet any and all of the above would be GREATLY appreciated!! I normally have pretty dry skin and the common dry skin associated problem of few things absorbing well. Maybe that's why your LA Met isn't working well? I've found the best moisturizers for me to be Clarins. They have a few specifically for dry skin, but even the ones that aren't work nicely. Also they're typically a pretty natural line as a general rule.

My skin is more combination, but I get extremely dry patches on my skin in the winter, and I found La Mer to be drying and irritating on my skin. My favorites to combat my dry patches are Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream layered over Indie Lee Squalane OIl (I'm sure the PTR one Sephora sells would work just as well).

I love clinique moisture surge, it's actually my first high end moisturizer!

I use the PTR oiless oil mentioned above and there's another PTR product called Viz that might help. I took accutane a long time ago and back then the only thing that helped me was the super thick Neutrogena cream that might be for body and I'm sure has some sort of glycerine or something in it but desperate times call for desperate measures!

i actually love the la mer original cream for winter dry skin. but the sisley hydra global is very hydrating (but i'm guessing too expensive?) and the clarins super restorative serum is very moisturizing as well. everyone at clarins will tell you that you're too young to use it but i used it in my 20s and 30s and read that they use it on the runway to create a very dewy/luminous look.

I love clinique moisture surge, it's actually my first high end moisturizer! I use this when I'm feeling overly dry! Most of the time I'm combination, but I have some days where I just need the extra moisture, and this always does the trick for me.

Algenist Genius Cream is very hydrating. Also, you may want to layer with an oil. Have you tried those?

I'm use Retin-A & when I'm the driest I love La Mer, but I get it's not for everyone. A few other favorites are Korres Wild Rose & Vita C sleeping facial (the C will help brighten) And over that I use a few drops of the PTR Oilless-Oil. I also find gentle exfoliation 2x a week helps. I prefer chemical exfoliation to scrubs & my two favorite are AmorePacific Treatment Enzyme Peel & any Gommage gel (PTR or KGD). Since I'm using topical retinol at night, I like to exfoliate in the morning, since that's when I'm the most dry.

Have you tried just plain coconut oil or jojoba oil especially at night under a moisturizer. I would not try the Argean oil just another naturally cold pressed oil. Even 100% unrefined shea butter if you have to.

Maybe try organic hemp oil? It's cold pressed. I have combo skin but use it on my dry cheeks and where I get dry from prescription Differin. I've also had really good luck with Paula's Choice, but haven't tried any of her moisturizers for dry skin. But she uses no fragrances or irritating chemicals.

Ya I'm thinking the more organic the better!! I can't exfoliate when taking Accutane or be in the sun... it's a hard and uncomfortable treatment process...but I've seen the results in the end from my sister taking it an some close friends and it truly flushes all the toxins that are stuck inside of the body that eventually come through to your outermost layer of your face which causes breakouts. This Accutane actually makes my skin exfoliate by itself 10,000 times faster than an average persons skin. I feel like a snake lol. But it is working but my skin is so DAMN dry I might just combine all ur suggestions into one HUGE moisturizing pot and that should do it!! Thanks for all the advice though...a lot of those things I hadn't ever thought about...like the oils and the individual organic ingredients

I had a nicely sized sample of Black Rose cream from Sisley Paris and loved it. It's a mask but I used it like a moisturizer for a week and my skin stay hydrated longer after cleansing and felt incredibly soft. I do love Fresh, but not sure if it's for incredibly dry skin. Good luck! o.o

Have you tried just plain coconut oil or jojoba oil especially at night under a moisturizer. I would not try the Argean oil just another naturally cold pressed oil. Even 100% unrefined shea butter if you have to. Raw unrefined shea butter was the only thing that worked ( and aHmazingly! ) for my crazy dry skin this last winter! Love, love, love it! It saved my skin! Coconut and jojoba oil are great, as well. But, for some reason, they were not enough...

So, as I already said, organic raw unrefined shea butter saved my skin last winter ( when my skin was driest EVER! ). I've tried so many things, but that worked the best. Other than raw unrefined shea butter, I love Origins Make a Difference Plus+ ( Ultra-rich rejuvenating cream, as well as Rejuvenating moisturizer ), and when my skin is at its best - High-Potency Night-A-Mins is very nice. Make a Difference Plus+ toner, and A Perfect World toner, are awesome dry skin's little helpers, too

Wow well I'm going today to check allll these things out!! I'm so glad you guys made so many recommendations or I'd be totally lost like I was thank u for all ur help! I do love Sisley and I was actually looking at the rose mask so thank u for commenting about your experience with it!! I'll will def comment and let u know what I bought today... and possibly get a few samples of the more expensive moisturizers that were recommended before I purchase! PS I was looking at Chantecaille brand and their moisturizers almost all there's are all almost 100% natural and rose water based which calms the skin.... has anyone tried any moisturizers from this particular brand?
