During a recent "girl's weekend out" I went shopping at a Cosmetics Company Store in an outlet mall and bought Bobbi Brown's Rich Caviar Eye Palette for $33.25. It was my first Bobbi Brown palette and I am a teeny bit disappointed. There seems to be an awful lot of fall-out from the Olive sparkle shadow which was one of the shades that attracted me to the palette. Though, as a palette addict I'm still happy I bought it!

I love the way the palettes look, but when I swatch them, the color pay off isn't great. There is a neutral one with a blue shade in it. Beautiful in the pan, swatches... Not so good. I have better luck with Urban Decay or Marc Jacobs.

Bobbi matte colors are amazing, but Bobbi sparkle colors are always awful, in my opinion. Here's a tip for using the sparkle shadows, though. They are meant to be just a pop of sparkle. You pat them on with a finger. They look best over one of the mattes. Apply the matte as usual, then dab your finger into the sparkle, and pat it on top. You can make some really pretty combinations this way.

I agree, My first purchase from Bobbi Brown was the holiday palette from last year. It was soooo gorgeous, but the color payoff and quality were so terrible, I ended up returning it. To be honest, it completely turned my off Bobbi Brown and I avoid that brand now.

mrsbaine, yes, I'm a UD fan as well.
sirenprincess, thanks for the tip. I haven't given the palette another try yet but I will.
mberteig, if I would have bought the palette locally I probably would have returned it. I don't see myself buying anymore Bobbi Brown shadows.
