I was wanting to pick your brain on some ideas on really earthy scents. - Warm weather is upon us and I am looking for ones that truly smell like part of the outdoors. You know, you go outside in the garden and get sweaty and some perfumes just don't mix well with being active outdoors, they just don't seem to fit. I would love to have a rose that doesn't smell lab created... A rose that smells earthy/ like sunshine and dirt. Does that make sense?
I also love gardenia, honeysuckle, and magnolia blooms.
I have ordered from Solstice scents before, but I am sure your fragrance knowledge surpasses many out there, so I wanted your opinion. I thought I would try something other that the brands from Sephora/Nordies and try indie brands for my search...I have chloe, florabotanica, rosabotanica, and several other floral scents, but they are all missing something earthy... Does that make sense? The only thing I don't want is a straight up green grass scent. I had a sample of that before and it made me want to sneeze- it was bizarre ! TYIA!
I posted it here in case others were looking for similar scents.

I have Jo Malone Red Roses and Demeter's Dirt. Demeter's Dirt smells like an earthy rich dirt. You could try layering both and come up with your own signature.

Now I love and hate you at the same time.... I have spent so much time looking at this site-I want every one of them! Never heard of Demeter before, but I am going to do an order!

Have fun! Demeter has quirky scents, but they are inexpensive and mixing and matching some of them really do recreate your own signature. I like to use their green tomato which smells like crushed tomato leaves (warm, green, and spicy) and the dirt, my kids love the salt spray which smells like the surf off a beach.

They also make a white jasmine and mint that I think would fit the bill. Wisteria and Violet from the London rain collection would be nice too!

How on earth did I miss this thread? calamityjaneCan you tell me what kind of earthy you're looking for? I see that you don't want green-grass earthy but do you want earth-and-apples? Straight up dirt (like the petrichor - scent of rain on dirt? Just plain ol' loam-y dirt?) Mushroom-y warm earthiness? Something that screams "I am an Earth Goddess, bow before me in my (sexy) terror?" I've got a handful of suggestions for all of the above.

A sweet and sunshine earthy, something that smells natural. Not really sure how to describe it as I have nothing to compare. Most all l my perfumes are sugary and sweet and fake. I will try anything you reccomend! I don't want a straight up dirt smell but I a floral dirt with sunshine. Does that make sense? Sounds funny. sent using tapatalk

Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca by Guerlain is minty with touches of lemon, clover and a tinge of lily of the valley. If you can find it Trish McEvoy use to make a cologne called Basil Tonic and it smelled like a fresh herb garden.
