This is going to be a reference thread, as many of you know I tend to stockpile my responses from BT with loads of information giving the ins and outs of whatever subject is at hand and this time it's going to be silica-based finishing powders! Whether it's MUFE's HD Powder, Urban Decay's Razor Sharp, Too Faced's Primed & Poreless Powder, Smashbox's Photo Set, Nars' Light Reflecting Setting Powder, Tarte's Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder, or even E.L.F Studio's HD Powder...the information in the below two threads from BT is something I want to carry over and share. Thread #1 community.sephora.com/t5/Face/Foundation-fo-rmy-wedding-day/m-p/1242070#M16133This covers brushes/tools to use, how to utilize the specific brush of choice (includes my "fancy" Paint drawings ), the amount to use, and application. Thread #2 community.sephora.com/t5/VIB/what-s-the-best-setting-powder-that-does-not-flashback-with/td-p/1429610This thread goes over how and why issues can arise with these powders (includes visuals thanks to Nicole Kidman) and how the degree of lighting in flash photography can translate the wear of these as well. (Please note that thread is in the VIB area for BT, so if you are not signed into BT the thread won't pull up) If anyone has any questions or need more clarification just let me know!
