Everyone talks about Jo Malone. I need to sniff some. The Blue Agava and cacao sounds good! Is the wear time pretty good with the scents? Love my Dolce and Gabbana but some of them fade quickly. I'm in testing phase (LOL) for the samples I got. So far, most seem to last a long while, but not all. Silk Blossom and Bluebell didn't last for me at all. I'm not interested in ones that I have to reapply which is why I'm testing each separately at first before trying any combinations. I still have quite a few to test. I have Grapefruit on today and it's another one that doesn't seem to last long.

I have a few to try out. Amber and Lavendar is a good one and doesn't need to be reapplied. I can keep you posted as I try the others.

sydbristow, I found the same thing with the Amber and Lavender. I'm still testing but it seems that any of the "cologne intense" ones are also long lasting. The ones in the woody and spicy categories also seem to be long lasting.

I tried my mini yesterday of Orange blossom and honey... I think. Whichever one has the honey. Anyway, it also wasn't too long lasting. Maybe 4 hours. It's a good "going out" fragrance. It doesn't last all day for work.

I got French Lime Blossom over the weekend on my little trip to Philly. I Love it! It is pretty long lasting and it smells like summer! So far, that, and perhaps the Peony and English Pear and Freesia are the only ones I'd get in the larger size.

I'm debating if I want to get English Pear and Freesia with the Bath Oil (dry ass skin!) and 1 oz. or save up instead for Guerlain's Rose Barbare. Rose Barbare is $260, but I love the scent. Of course Jo Malone's full size is $110 or something... I don't really want a full sized perfume unless it's not offered. I like small sizes. I don't use perfume much and it's just enough and doesn't take up enough room and scare me.

Before I just bought the bunch of 1-ounce JM fragrances, I really analyzed my fragrance usage beforehand and realized that I never really used up any fragrances and that usually what happened was I got tired of it (or bored by it) way before I got even halfway through the bottle! The other thing that I realized was that I seemed drawn towards stronger but also "in" or newer fragrances, like FlowerBomb, only to discover that they became almost too strong and one-note later on. To me, the JM ones, many of them (such as the English Pear and Freesia) are less "in your face" and so subtle and interesting as they unfold -- definitely not one note -- and they seem to smell a bit different on each person, plus the layering aspect means you can make the smell more unique. Perhaps if you look at how you've used up fragrances in the past, that will help you decide which way to go.

I've finished a couple of bottles of perfume in the past, but it was when I had one or two in the rotation. Now I have over 10. I like the size of Jo Malone. The 1oz makes complete sense to me. Plus they are cute! I'm really liking the French Lime one now. That lasts a while.

I've gone through all of the samples of JM I got and have a new list of several more to add to my 1-oz collection I already have. Several are more "winter" type fragrances so I'll time it much later in the year to purchase those. Now I've got DH trying some of them (the less floral ones) to see what he likes on himself.

I got a sample of the latest scent, Wood Sage & Sea Salt. It smells really nice but only lasts on me for about 4 hours.

I had a sample too and it is pretty long lasting on me.

I went to Nordie's at lunch to do a return (yay me for being realistic about all this stuff I've bought lately) and I ran into the Jo Malone sales lady. I asked her for a sample of the new Woody scent- woods and sea salt, or something like that. She, of course, wanted to pre-sell it to me for the triple points coming up. I told her I wanted to try it out to see how long it lasts. Then she tells me "Oh, these fragrances aren't long lasting... that's why we sell purse size." So.... I'm pretty much done with believing I can get good wear out of most of them. So much for that. I probably won't buy many more (except maybe this one, and Red Roses... ) I need fragrance to last more than a couple of hours, and I don't want to buy two sizes to get me through the day.

Wow she really was a poor saleswoman. LOL I've found that more than a handful last for longer than a few hours. Granted, I'm a bit anal in testing them--I actually wrote down the time I applied each one and kept track of how long the scent lasted, and then tested each one more than once. The ones I liked I then tested again. There are certainly some that don't last long at all, most notably the last two more recent issues. Some fans forgive this and buy it (and then reapply it) anyway but not me. There were also several that lasted a long time but had a disagreeable scent (to me). The ones I've found that last, that I've already bought or plan to buy (for either myself or DH or both), include: Blackberry & Bay, English Pear & Freesia, Peony & Blush Suede, Blue Agava & Cocoa, Vanilla & Anise, White Jasmine & Mint, 154, Velvet Rose & Oud, Amber & Lavender, Saffron, Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, Vetyver, and Amber & Patchouli. I keep a Note on my iPhone that keeps track of the ones I already own, the ones I want to own someday and the rejects. Then I'm not tempted....

I'm wearing my sample of Wood Sage and Sea Salt today. I applied it around 8:30, my time (about 2 hours ago) and it's still going strong. One of my associates just walked by my office and asked what he smelled- it was good and woodsy, but sweet. I told him it was probably my perfume. We'll see how it goes. I do agree that the English Pear and Freesia and Peony one (which smell amazing together) are very long lasting. The French lime blossom smells good, but only lasts about 6 hours on me. And Silk Blossom is the most disappointing; it lasts literally 2 hours, maybe. Clearly, I don't "need" another perfume, but I like this Wood one and I don't have anything like it. I'm a floral girl, so almost every fragrance I have is floral.
