I need your ladies' opinions... So yesterday, I received the LE Bite lippie in Damask that I had ordered for my mom for Mother's Day. I decided to open and check it out, just in case.. because I always worry about gifting someone with something that is in anything less than perfect condition. I let it sit in my condo for today hoping it might go back to normal, but it more or less still looks the same. But when I opened it, the lippie was sweating I've attached pictures. I know it`s still safe to use, but now it looks kind of sad and I'm sure my mom would worry if it was safe and possibly not use it because of this. So I was planning to bring it back to a store to exchange it, except none of the stores within 150km of me have it! I contemplated sending it back via mail and see if they would send a replacement. But I wouldn't be able to get it in time and because it`s starting to get warm here, I worry I would just have the same problem with the next lippie...or it would melt. So I feel like my options at this point, really are to bring it back to the store, and exchange it for another Bite lippie or a lippie from another brand... What you ladies do? And does anyone have any amazing lippie suggestions? My mom is pretty open to anything.. I don't think she's quite adventurous enough to try purple or black though. Attachments:

If you call CS, they'll probably ship a replacement, especially if you tell them it is a gift.

Oh that's too bad! I'd call/return it because it's a gift. Good thing you checked it before wrapping it up!

Yeah, that looks bad. I haven't ever had that happen to me before. I got my mom 2 YSL Lippies. In the past I've gotten her Bare Minerals which she seems to really, really like.

That's so weird! I have a few lip products that have "sweated"- but only old ones that I've never used, so I've just tossed them. Any one have thoughts on what makes this happen?
Anyways, yes, definitely return it! I really like Bite products so far, so maybe ask for a replacement that hopefully won't be all yucky?

Oh yuck, that is sweaty. I guess if I had time I would drive in and exchange it because it is LE and pretty. If you don't have time maybe you could buy a lipstick from another brand that is closer and just mail it in. Do you have any nice makeup stores that are closer?

I just purchased Fig and love it for spring. I'm not sure if it's the same formulation or not. I wonder if the sweating is due to the fact that it contains more natural ingredients? Sort of an odd question ... but has anyone else noticed how good these lipsticks taste? I have to stop myself from licking it all off

I've had plenty of sweaty lipsticks like that - they're safe to use but don't look pretty. It happens more often with lipsticks that have hydrating ingredients - the "sweat" is actually the oil of the lipstick separating out. This can be caused by heat exposure, age, and just plain old poor mixing. Lipsticks that don't have a lot of stabilizers tend to sweat more than others. I've never had it make a difference to application but that's the one risk - some people find the oil on the surface to make for a messy application.

I've had some minor sweating on some of my other Bite lipsticks... But it never really bothered me (is it bad for you if it does this?!) So I just kept on using them haha Usually it happens when I keep them in my purse and it's warm out. They taste AMAZING. I too have to prevent myself from eating them more than normal haha. It's kind of evil of Bite in that way.

Maybe it's sweaty because it knows people want to eat it!

Did you try putting it in the fridge? it took a week for the sweating to go away, but it did! I actually ended up taking it with me in my purse to my office and had it chilled there during the day and room temperature at my condo at night. My office is always super cold in the summer because my cubicle is right next to the computer room with all the servers.
