Ulta continues to step up its game. In my last small order ($34), I picked the variety sampler. I received a deluxe Benefit Porefessional and a FULL-size Essence Lipstick in a sheer purple shimmer. Mind you, it's one of their lower-end brands and not quite the same as receiving a tube of YSL, but it was still more value than your average Sephora sample.
The gesture was very impressive...it made me feel that renewing Platinum a while back was worth it.
Now what has Sephora done for me lately? Hmm...can't think of anything.

Wow! My last Ulta variety sampler consisted of two Olay Fresh Effects samples and a lotion - all foil packets. And I'm Platinum too. I was pretty disappointed that a $150 order could have such sad little samples of cheap products (plus shipping takes far too long).

I just got an Ulta order and received NO samples after selecting the skincare option.

I don't think I've ever gotten a sample from Ulta that hasn't ended up in the trash yet.

I'll never understand why there's such a wide amount of variation in Ulta's customer service. A lot of my mystery sample packs have been pretty lame and always used to contain only foils, but lately I've received several that had mini/travel sizes of non-drugstore brands, like DDF and Benefit.
