notcreative, I haven't looked at those eye-shade videos or blogs lately, but I think that your eyes look like they're deep set hooded. My understanding is that hooded is when your entire lid is not visible when the eyes are open all the way. I'm not sure about the deep set criteria, but they look deep set to me. (Mine are deep set and almond I think.) The shape, I think you look at whether the outer corners slightly go downward or upward; yours look about even or slightly upward. Maybe almond but I'm going off memory. Hopefully someone else will respond who knows more. FWIW, I went through the "what shape is my eye?" phase but then I forgot to pursue what that means in applying makeup. LOL I think just some common sense is okay. If you have hooded, for example, you want to be careful in applying mascara and shadow and liner so that they don't rub onto the hood. There are some tricks for opening the eye up too--maybe it's to apply it so that the crease looks further up?? Again, going off memory and what I recall some BT users and video MUAs talking. Probably not much help but will post in hopes someone else will share better info.

View AttachmentView AttachmentI am trying to learn better techniques for applying eye shadow. As I have really only been wearing makeup again for a little over a year, and I barely wear it, I need a lot more practice. These are all recent pictures. The first one looks the closest to what I actually look like, because I am only wearing tinted moisturizer, lipstick and I did my brows. I am attaching them in the hopes that you lovely ladies can help me decide what eye shape I actually have. I have found some guides that make me think they are either hooded or deep set. The suggestions for each varies, so I want to figure out which shape is prominent. As a teen, I usually only wore one or two shades and did not really blend them much. I would like to learn how to blend best for my eye shape. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond. View Attachment I think down turned, maybe... Or almond?

Thanks ladies. Deep set and hooded is what I was leaning toward. I currently use the deep set method but I wonder if I should adjust to the hooded one. Maybe, I can give it a try and see which one I like better. If my eyes are both hooded and deep set, maybe I can see which one is more prominent when I try the techniques for both.
