You might want to check out the Dior Fluid Sticks, they are a hybrid of lipstick and gloss and the darker colors will give you a good color payoff. Just apply like a gloss and no worries.

love2shop42, thanks for your input. I will have to look into them. In the meantime, does practice make perfect?

love2shop42, thanks for your input. I will have to look into them. In the meantime, does practice make perfect? The lip brush allows for the most desired application because it will prevent you from over-applying color and will cut down bleeding or rubbing off on teeth. You can also layer to a desired shade. This is how I do it first, apply color to the center of your lower lip and then gently sweep outwards while blending out to corners creating shape. You can then press your lips together to transfer color to upper lip, and then lightly trace your Cupid’s bow and with light brush strokes fill the upper with color. And practice does make perfect. Others may have a different application, but this works for me. When in a hurry my Dior Addict Fluid Stick does the job in seconds.

I'm not sure when I would get the Dior Fluid Stick, but in the meantime, I have some bullet lipsticks and I'm thinking that I could maybe apply them similarly, using the lip brush to fill in and outline. I appreciate the detailed description.
