To get it or not?! GlamGlow is one of the brands included this month...and use code CIATE and get a free nail polish. Also, I have a free box since they screwed up the last one royally...what do you guys think?? Spend it now, or save it for a (potentially) better box?

I'm guessing there will be a better one down the road. Sephora has foil packets of Glamglow for you to sample, and it feels like there's a lot of product in there Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I always put subscriptions on my debit card, because they're recurring. It is easier to track. For extra charges, like the gift sub I've added, I put them on credit cards. I like to get points on the credit cards that I do not get on my debit card. Anyway, both the $15 gift sub and a $21 charge have posted to my credit card. I tried to call Glossybox to see if I was double charged (as I do not yet see a charge on my debit card, but I verified that monthly subscription is still listed as my debit card for charging purposes). No one ever answers, so I sent a secure message through my account.
Has anyone else been charged for their regular subscription yet? $36 is a good deal for 2 boxes, but I do not want to pay $57.

Glossybox responded to my email. I wanted to know what I had to do to ensure they did not charge me husband's credit card again. The rep canceled my subscription and said he refunded the $21. wtf. I did not ask him to cancel me. That beyond pisses me off, so I sent an email back stating he better refund the $15 gift sub too. If the box is awesome, I am going to be mad! I went from having 2 boxes 2 none. That's what I get for getting greedy and ordering a gift sub, I guess.

Not even going to bother. I wanted to go from 5 boxes down to 2 over the next few months anyway. He just helped me pick one to get rid of. Two more to go. There was nothing in my email that he could have misinterpreted to think I wanted to cancel. He wrote it as if it was MY idea to cancel too. I just wanted to ensure the credit card was not going to be charged every month. The payment method was still listed as my debit card, so I did not know how to change it. "Thanks for writing in! Apologies for the $21 charge. When purchasing the $15 gift box, the new payment automatically updated the payment method for your monthly account, which was not cancelled, so that is how the transaction processed. We will refund the $21 charge and cancel the subscription, so you won't receive any further charges or boxes. I hope this clarifies! Again, I am very sorry for any inconvenience." I just got the response to my email demanding my $15 for the gift sub back as well. He wrote the following: "I do apologize for the confusion on our end, as it seemed the initial email was informing us that the $21 charge was not authorized. Please contact us at your convenience during our business hours, so we can resolve this issue for you as soon as possible. We can be reached at 855-738-1140 between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday." Nope, not calling unless that generic response means they are not refunding my $15. If they do not refund it, they better send me a box!

Glossybox customer service is horrible! That's how I got mine refunded and a free box. They wouldn't respond to the emails I sent and it took over an hour to get their "customer service" department on the phone. When I finally got them on the phone she insinuated that it was my fault they shipped the original box to the wrong address - even though I triple checked on the website and I entered my address correctly. It's really a shame because they could be such a nice company to work with if they got their CS together.

notcreative, what other boxes do you get? It's too bad Glossybox has such poor customer service! This shouldn't be hard- getting an additional box.

It's really a shame because they could be such a nice company to work with if they got their CS together. Exactly. My account clearly shows my debit card as the card on file for the recurring subscription, yet the credit card was charged. My guess is whatever in their system had them pull my payment from the wrong place is probably the same thing that had it pull your address from the wrong place. There was no way he could possibly misinterpret my intentions, so I cannot believe he took it upon himself to cancel my account. Yeah, the $21 charge was not authorized (which were his word, not mine, on the credit card. My email to him clearly stated that the $21 charge is set up to be pulled from my DEBIT card. Why would he think I was saying they had no permission to pull $21. They did. I was so frustrated that I could not get them by phone either, which is part of the reason I have zero interest in calling. I do not want to got through something like this if I have another problem, so Glossybox has to go. If they do not send me a box for the $15 or refund the $15, I will either call or just dispute the charge (which would be easier).

The first time I ordered a gift sub, I just put it on my debit card, because I did not feel like grabbing a credit card. That was the amazing May box, so I am grateful I was lazy. This time, I wanted the second box for $15, and the points for the $15 purchase my credit card gives (well my husband's card, but I am an authorized user). My other four boxes are: Sample Society (which has forgotten one sample each of my last two orders, so it is on the short list to be canceled as well), Julep (which I plan on canceling after I collect all of the gemstone polishes, so probably in December), Birchbox and Ipsy. Sample Society customer service is amazing though. Both times they forgot a sample, I called in. Someone answered right away. They were friendly and sent me a replacement box. The replacement box has contained everything meant to be in the original box both times, so I end up with two of everything, except the missing item of course. The contents of the last two boxes have not overly impressed me, so I was thinking this would be a box to go. Apparently, they are changing up what they put in their boxes though. Last month, I got 4 facial moisturizers and 2 perfumes (in my second box as my first box was missing one of the moisturizers). Anyway, my point is that is not a lot of variety, and I've told every box I am not into perfume. Two in one box really sucks. I am getting three makeup items, yet another perfume, and a hair product this month, so I am still waiting for a better mix. However, my makeup items are nail polish (yay), lipstick (yay) and a Laura Mercier highlighter (yay). This is the first box I am actually excited about, so I see the potential. That said, if they forget another sample even one more time, I am canceling. While I appreciate the replacement box and awesome customer service, I also believe in the three strikes you're out rule.
I have never had an issue with Birchbox (well, I am disappointed I never received the email to select a nail polish, but there is a slight possibility I missed it). They have an excellent point system if you review your items, always have a good mix of products, have decent quality products compared to Ipsy which mostly gives cheap products for the same $10 price tag, are starting a new program where you get to pick at least one of your items and I have liked at least 2 items from every box (even though I have not used 2 from each box yet, I know I will like them once I try them). This is a keeper!
Glossybox was my favorite (even though June was not super amazing, May was, so I knew there was potential for more great boxes, so I thought I was for sure keeping it before this whole ordeal happened. I am glad it happened before I cancelled a different box though. Julep is an expensive subscription. The box is $60 for 3 months up front or $24.99 a month. There are options to upgrade every month. The deals seem amazing, so I have not been able to skip a month of upgrading even once adding to the cost. I am really going to try to skip this upcoming month though. Whoever is in charge of promos is fantastic at it. They give you bonus gifts each month if you order at least 3 items to upgrade, and it is fun seeing what you will get. There is also a coupon code for an additional order in each box that I have used every time to order additional polishes in between orders. Occasionally, they give out fantastic GWP bags, which I got one, and it was decent. I rarely paint my nails even though I love collecting polish. The polish is decent quality, but I really do not want or need more polish than I will ever use. It is nice to collect the gemstone polishes at member rates, with coupons and free member shipping. Thus, I will cancel the subscription in December after I get the last gemstone polish. Ipsy started off really great when it was mostly makeup. The majority of the makeup is cheap, which does not bother me. While I would not go out and buy cheap makeup, I have no problem trying stuff that comes in boxes. Lately, they have been mixing the box up more, which is great with higher quality boxes but not with this one. Their skincare items are usually very cheap, and I am not into using cheap skincare. With the exception of the March box (where I actually got everything I was hoping for), it seems like I rarely get any of the items I want from the sneak peeks either. I was lucky enough to get the Ole Henriksen wipes last month, which almost cover the cost of the whole box. This month, there is not one item I am excited about. I was thinking of canceling when I went down to 2 boxes. I will probably keep it now that I am done with Glossybox though. Even if Sample Society is amazing from here on out, I fear they will forget another item and it will be difficult to resubscribe to Ipsy. I heard they are making Ipsy subscribers do a ton of stupid stuff to get off the waiting list now. Granted, I could chuck all of the boxes except Birchbox and pick up a completely new one to try. I did want to try Wantable before settling on Glossybox.

I looked into Julep last night, but I don't think I need that much polish- especially when I seem to get one in Wantable pretty often. I haven't been disappointed with a Wantable box yet. I've gotten a nice blush from Tarina Tarintino, a Eyeshadow quad from MiraBella, and Duo from MiraBella, several lip pencils and lipsticks. There are always 1-2 items I'm really into so for $36 I think I'll keep it. Glossybox is nice for me because they do skincare and lotion. I don't think I'll do another one.

I got a shipping notification for my gift sub, so at least I get one last box before parting. Plus, thanks to the "wonderful" customer service, I got my one box for $15 instead of $21. Unless they post a charge for the additional $6, and I would not put that past them.

Got my box yesterday. Did anyone else's serum come 2/3 full (or 1/3 empty)?
