I found this neat new subscription box called Lip Monthly. I think they just came out recently, but I'm really liking them! They had a deal going on where your first box was $5, and then it's $10 a month after that. They shipped using USPS and my box arrived about four days after it was shipped (two business days). This month I received:
Appeal Cosmetics - Red Light District - Retail $22.00
This is a true, bright red lip stick, super creamy and hydrating. I left it on for a few hours and it had great staying power, but I definitely needed to reapply after eating or drinking.
City Color Cosmetics - Lip Balm in Bright Pink - Retail $2.99
This is a moisturizing lip balm with pretty good color payoff. It's like a gloss in stick form. I think it will be nice mixed with other colors, or for days when I want something on my lips that is shiny but not sticky, and isn't too bold.
City Color Lip Lush - Lip Crayon in Charm - Retail $2.99
I can guarantee I'll never use this. It's the only thing I was disappointed in with my box. It's a frosty brownish purple that is straight out of the 90s, and I couldn't pull this color off if I tried.
Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss - Sunburst - Retail $8.49
This is a high gloss lippie that comes across as an raisin shade on my lips. It's not something I'd ever buy for myself, but I'm glad it came in my box because I really like it! It's not super sticky, and it adds amazing depth to any of my other lipsticks.
And finally, every month they'll send you a non-lip beauty product, and this month I received a 1.5oz tube of John Frieda Collection Frizz-Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme. The full size of 5oz retails for $5.99.
So the value of my box was about $35. Since I only spent $5 on it, I'd say it's well worth it. My favorite item was definitely the bright red lipstick, and I think I'll stay on for another few months and see how this subby box progresses.
